The purpose of this playthrough will be to mop up any side missions and missable achievements you didn't grab in your first playthrough as well as completing a second character class, choosing a 2nd ending and continuing to work on collecting audio notes and special weapons. Therefore it is strongly advised to go for this on your first playthrough. NOTE: Several people have reported " No one can hear you scream" is glitchy and will not unlock on New Game+. It is also worth noting that the entire world will be open to you right up until the final boss fight so you can backtrack at any time to mop up anything you may have missed. It is worth noting that all equipment, stats, collectible items and XP carry over to NG+ but others such as side missions and optional objectives don't carry over so if you have started working on these, make sure to finish them before completing the final fight. If at any point of the game you feel under levelled or outmatched you can always farm areas you have previously passed through by defeating all enemies in the area, banking the XP and quitting to the main menu, as each time you reload the game, the enemies will reappear. Exploring each area thoroughly will also make collecting armour sets and audio notes easier as many of these are off the beaten track so to speak.Īs you need to play as all three classes, it is recommended you choose a class, (either Warrior, Clerk or Rouge) which you feel most comfortable with. The purpose of this playthrough will be to familiaise yourself with the game and work on the majority of side quests and optional objectives as well as being sure to explore every where to make subsequent playthroughs quicker. The game isn't all that difficult, even for people who aren't all that familiar with RPGs, but it will take some time to complete three playthroughs and unlock all achievements. From here you can return to the place of your death and collect any lost experience but there is a time limit and the amount of XP will degrade over time. If you fall in combat, all XP not banked into stat progression will temporarily be lost and you will be placed back at your last checkpoint. However, using a checkpoint to refill your health and potions will cause your XP multiplier to reset.
Reaching a checkpoint allows you to bank that XP into upgrading your skill points or magic spells. The experience leveling in this game is a little different from most RPGs in that you gain experience from killing enemies and each enemy you kill in succession increases the total XP earned by a factor of 0.1. However, there are several missable achievements that can easily be missed but on the off chance you do make a mistake on your first playthrough, they can easily be obtained on subsequent playthroughs. Aside from the difficulty of the game, there are no achievements that will prove too difficult or require any real practise.
To obtain all achievements you will need to complete three full playthroughs, but Lords of the Fallen has a New Game+ and a New Game++ mode allowing you to carry over stats and equipment for subsequent playthroughs. You assume the role of Harkyn, a criminal who is assitsing a group of monks defend off an attack by the demonic Rhogar.
This game has drawn many similarities from the Dark Souls series and plays in a similar fashion but is considered to be slightly easier.
